Marianne Vander Meulen – Dining Room Manager

Marianne was born and raised in St. Catharines, only leaving the area for a few years to attend the University in Hamilton.  Marianne quickly returned to the Niagara region though due to a deep love of family and the area.

Marianne has been part of the food industry since she was sixteen years old.

Having worked in a variety of different roles and in a number of restaurants has allowed her to have a better understanding of the food industry.  From working in the dish pit to serving tables, she has gained experience in many areas which has helped her to understand the flow of a restaurant and what each employee goes through on a daily basis.  It is this understanding and insight that has helped Marianne to be promoted throughout the years to different roles such as Supervisor and Dining Room Manager.  Her eight years working as a server gave her the necessary foundation to work in management.

Marianne recently joined the Lake House team as a Dining Room Manager and Private Function Coordinator and she has enjoyed learning the ins and outs of the busy restaurant.   Marianne seemed to fit right into the team immediately and it already feels like she has been part of the Lake House family for years!

Marianne has developed a deep love of travelling and has visited a number of countries in recent years.  This has helped her to grow her love of food and wine. She enjoys discovering the beauty that can be found in each and every country, and she finds great joy in exploring different cultures.
