Julie Sukhija
A Niagara native through and through, Julie’s culinary career began at a neighborhood diner in Vineland. While she initially entered the kitchen to support her university studies, she quickly found herself hooked on the energy and “beautiful chaos” of the restaurant world.
Julie spent over a decade rising through the ranks in Ottawa before moving to Toronto to tackle high-volume service as a Senior Sous Chef on the harbourfront. Her journey eventually brought her back home to Niagara, where she served as a General Manager and Kitchen Manager—a role that reignited her passion for creative menu development.
After getting married in 2021 and welcoming her son in 2024, Julie sought a role that honored both her extensive expertise and her new life as a mother. She joined the Lake House team initially cooking on the line, but has recently stepped into the pastry chef position—a role she has always loved. Today, Julie combines her years of leadership experience with her passion for sweets, crafting inspired desserts that provide the perfect finishing touch to the Lake House experience.
